The Setting and Story

The setting as of current is similar to that of ASOIAF. The Usurper rebellion has occurred in years past. During a harsh winter, King Baelon Targaryen became known for his harsh and demanding treatment. When he poorly rationed food, he demanded food stores from the Reach, pushing their people to starve. At the same time he became obsessed with the finer things, demanding, 'The riches of a king'. When the Iron Bank refused to loan him money, he gave pressure to the Lannisters.. Who gave him his gold. When asked to repay his loan, he refused. When the Warden of the Westerlands pushed the issue, he called it treason. While an insurgency of Blackfyres grew in Essos, they heard word of the instability. Exploiting it, they promised to see the Reach back into health, and ensured the Lannister's debts would be repaid. In a small blitzkrieg, the Iron Throne was taken within weeks and most of the Targaryens slaughtered.. With the heir to the throne being killed early into the conflict, a large portion put to the sword the night the Blackfyre's had their last, and only succesful coup attempt. A scattered few women escaped and survive in an unknown location in Essos, yet unbothered by their usurping relatives.

In the years following the establishment of the Blackfyre Dynasty, several Free Cities of Essos, Lys, Myr and Tyros threatened both Volantis and Braavos, in addition to fracture agreements with Westeros.. The King honored his ties to Volantis, sparking a small  mostly naval war between the two powers. Amidst the struggle, Westeros experienced raiding along it's coasts. However, the end result came with the victory of Westerosi forces and  some cities in Essos forced into one sided terms of peace and promises of repayment to the victor. This of course has left them bitter, but also questioning the wisdom of further conflicts without substantial reason.
